Background and Objectives: Pre-hospital care is a critical and decisive factor in the treatment of emergency patients. The better, faster and more appropriate you manage these patients, the less morbidity and mortality will be. The purpose of this study was to compare the pre-hospital emergency condition of Sabzevar City with existing standards in 2014-2015.
Materials and Methods: The present study was a correctional descriptive-analytic conducted in five Sabzevar Urban Emergency Care Units in 2014. Data regarding the staff and equipment in Emergency Care Units were extracted by using a checklist. In this study, 14, 306 mission reports recorded at the Central Emergency Care unit were reviewed during 12 months from the beginning of April to the end of March 2014. Descriptive statistics and SPSS software version 16 was used to analyze the data.
Results: None of the Emergency Care Units had sufficient manpower and none of the ambulances had all the equipment needed. The greatest shortage was in vital therapeutic equipment so that only 12/50 % of ambulances had this equipment and about 8/06% of the requests had been answered in more than eight minutes.
Conclusion: In order to improve the provision of pre-hospital care, it is necessary to pay more attention to pre-hospital quality control.
